Fenech Feud Revival Celebrates 10 Years of Charity, Silliness, and Now a Bigger Reach

When I was working at Maxie’s Food & Spirits in Flint, Michigan and watching Richard Karn hosting ‘Family Feud’, something in the back of my head clicked.

What if we asked drunk stoners at that legendary bar in Flint to answer suggestive questions? Ron Sabourin, a fan of the Feud and game shows in general, was interested in my idea to play a question or two like the actual game show during karaoke breaks.

Mr. Sabourin didn’t approve it immediately, but he literally gave me $1,000 to renovate and beef up the Family Feud board that I had built in my basement when the home board game manufacturer stopped making board games.

The game was a huge hit, and we only stopped playing because I moved out of town. It made a few cameo returns to Maxie’s with some computer upgrades I was attempting, but that was it.

In 2016, what started as “The Maxie’s Feud” returned into what would eventually be known as “The Fenech Feud”. This gave our team the ability to perform at multiple venues under one name. Now, people come up to me as not only the radio guy, but that guy who does the Feud. Yep! That’s me!

This month we are celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the Fenech Feud revival. During our current run, we have raised 10s of thousands of dollars for local charities, like Whaley Children’s Center, the Old Newsboys of Flint, the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan and many, many more.

We have also be lucky to work with great places like The Fire Place, Joe & Lewies’s Penalty Box, Jack’s Place, Mug Shotz, The Montrose Pub, the Genesee County Fair, Davison Eagles, and several corporate events. But our home for more than six of our 10 year run has been at the amazing Scooter’s Bar & Grill. Working with Lisa and Chris has been an absolute dream!

Our legacy continues this year as we expand to more local festivals like Flushing Summerfest, and even a weekend stint in Sault Ste. Marie.

We also continue to grow our question library and improve our equipment, including an awesome revamp of our Face Off podium that we we thrilled to reveal this year.

So come out and join us for the ridiculous, adults-only and usually raunchy fun that we call the Fenech Feud. Click here to register your team in advance for upcoming game nights.
