In the Summer of 2020, Johnny Burke and I were approached by Streeter Brothers Inc. of Burton, Michigan to help with a project. At the time I had no idea how monumental and historic this project would be.

Greg and Joe Streeter wanted us to document their team’s modernization and renovation of the Esther Williams Pool. I love Mackinac Island, but I had never been there in the middle of a Michigan winter. On top of that, Johnny and I were astounded at the scale of the project, the technology used to complete it, and the logistical challenges of a project like this on an island in freezing conditions.

Our 13 part series called “Deep Dive” showed their progress from start to finish. Now, their hard work has them nominated for a very prestigious award. The Michigan Concrete Association’s award ceremony is next month, and we were asked to make a shortened version to show at the awards presentation.
